Jesus prayed, “May they all be one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you.” (Jn. 17:21) On the first day of the 20th century Pope Leo XIII prayed the Veni Creator Spiritus and a few hours later the Pentecostal movement began! From the very beginning there has been a close and essential bond between the charismatic renewal and the movement seeking the unity of Christians. Pope Francis has encouraged the Renewal as a grace for ecumenism and offered the phrase “reconciled diversity” to the effort. The speakers will share both theologically as well as their personal experiences in working for the unity of the Body of Christ as a “reconciled diversity.”
